I met Kevin and Amanda the year before in Manchester’s Castlefield area as they trusted me to take their engagement pictures, you can see all the photos from the shoot here.  Also.  on the 20th of May this year I had the pleasure of being their wedding photographer in Salford’s Media City, at a place called ‘On the 7th’. Although I had been to Media City many times, I had never seen this hip venue as it is hidden away in the 7th floor of one of the tallest buildings.

As a wedding photographer I love to test myself shooting in different venues and locations so I was looking forward to working in Media City for first time. Its modern architecture with reflective surfaces and modern bridges have great potential for creative portraits so I incorporated this elements in the bride and groom portraits.

The day started at Amanda’s dad’s house in Atherton where the beautiful bride and bridesmaids were getting ready. The day was nice and bright and everyone was in good spirits.

Amanda was calm and organised, everything was going to plan and I left in good time to head to Media City.

When I got there, there was a little spot of rain but nothing to dampen the mood of the day. I went up to the venue to see Kevin who was looking a little nervous, while most people started to arrive to take their seats.

The light was fantastic On the 7th, looking out from the windows into Salford’s Media City and I went down to see Amanda arriving in a Campervan she had hired.

The ceremony progressed without a hitch, I then stole the couple to go outside and take some portraits. The wind had picked up a little, but that made for some dramatic shots on the bridge with Amanda’s dress. The bride and groom were great fun to work with, and we got some great shots. I took them inside for the speeches after a short while.

After the speeches and food had finished it was time for the party, and… boy do these guys know how to do party! The place filled up with their friends for the evening, with everyone getting on the dancefloor to enjoy the night.

Congratulations Kevin and Amanda!
