Rachel and Adam
Rachel and Adam are a wonderful couple who live in Bury. Rachel booked me as their wedding photographer at the beginning of 2017 so it was great to catch up with them in October to talk thoroughly about their plans for the big day.
Bolholt Country Park Hotel
Rachel and Adam got married near Bury, in the Bolholt Country Park Hotel. The Hotel is set in a beautiful rural area surrounded by 50 acres of lakeside gardens and parkland. Such a great place to take their wedding photos!
The ceremony took place in the Horseshoe Suite, a quaint setting at the top of the Stables Country Club where the reception would be also hosted.
I arrived at Rachel’s mother's house bright and early to find the group in high spirits preparing for the wedding. Rachel opened the door to me with a beautiful big smile and we chatted for a while, but time was short and I went upstairs to photograph the wedding dress and details.
Downstairs, the bridesmaids were getting ready in the front room where there was an amazingly soft light coming in from the bay windows at the front of the house. When it was Rachel’s turn to have her makeup applied I took the opportunity to photograph her against such a lovely light; one of this images has turned out to be one of my favorites from last year.
More members of the family arrived later and they started to dress the cars with deep orange ribbons. Orange was the theme for the wedding and it looked absolutely striking on the cars. After an hour, it was time for me to head down to the venue before the wedding party arrived.
I arrived in good time and the Stables Country Club where the gardens looked stunning in the crisp October sun. I parked nearby and rushed to find Adam waiting nervously outside the Horseshoe Suite.
After taking a few shots of the grounds, I waited for the wedding party to arrive. Adam’s daughter - Mia - wanted to see her dad before the wedding, so I waited to photograph such a charming moment before getting ready for the service.
The wedding got underway with the service being an emotional tribute to two people in love.
After the group shots, I took the couple around the grounds and got some stunning shots with the lakes in the background. We then headed back to the reception to start the party.
We returned to the Horseshoe Suite to go straight into the speeches. There was some great ones, with the Rachel’s father being a naturally funny guy and also the best man, who delivered a cracking one.
After the fun of the speeches had finished the group started with the wedding breakfast and I headed home.
What a fun wedding in a great setting! I hope Rachel and Adam have a great life together and I wish them all the best for the future.
