Anyway back to Becky and Dan’s wedding...
Becky and Dan got in touch with me all the way back in 2018 to discuss photographing their wedding after a recommendation from some mutual friends. We met shortly after to talk their plans for the day.
Becky and Dan were a great couple and we immediately got along well with each other, they spoke about what they wanted from the wedding and some interesting places nearby to get some posed shots, such as Fletcher Moss Park. It seems I’m there every other weekend photographing couples or families but it’s such a good location the shots never get boring.
The wedding was due to take place in the Didsbury House Hotel, a small luxury victorian townhouse on the edge of East Didsbury town centre. I had heard of the venue from other photographers, they told me it was a great venue to photograph.
When the morning of the wedding finally came despite being forecast for a little rain the sun was out and shining brightly. Perfect for a late winter wedding.
I headed to Eleven Didsbury Park, another victorian villa a minutes walk away from the venue, where Becky was getting ready with her two bridesmaids.
Becky had told me she liked to be super organised, and true to her word the morning was lovely and calm for a wedding. She had even expertly hung up her dress in the middle of the room ready for me to photograph.
After some time photographing the ladies getting ready I headed to photograph the venue, there I met Dan with his groomsmen dressing the ceremony room and making last minute plans. Dan was in good spirits and was laughing and joking with his groomsmen.
The morning progressed smoothly, Becky’s bridesmaids had helped her get ready and she was looking very elegant in her long wedding dress. Her parents arrived for the big reveal and after some group shots I headed back to the venue to see the guests arrive.
The venue had some gorgeous light streaming through the windows, an elegant venue to match this stylish bride and groom.
The room quickly filled up and Dan was in position waiting for his new bride, Becky arrived shortly after and the wedding began. After a wonderful emotional service we all went outside for confetti and to get a big group shot of everyone, I took my chance and whisked Becky and Dan off to Fletcher Moss Park for some couple photographs.
We started in the grounds of the Didsbury Parsonage Gardens to get some shots of an amazing tree which was in full bloom.
After a short time we headed to another favourite spot of mine in fletcher moss to get a dramatic wide shot which fit well with this chic couple, before heading back to join the other guests.
During the day we had some fun with a quiz for the guests, before some emotional speeches which were held at the staircase.
The night progressed and the first dance was conducted with style, a fitting end to the night for me. I finished for the night just as the heavens opened as I was driving home.
Congratulations to Becky and Dan!
